“I want to create something unique, something Oslo has never seen before. ”
Adrienne Ryser has run one of Paris' most renowned flower shops. Now she brings the L'Arrosoir concept to Oslo and SIXA, where she continues the French floral tradition with her unique craftsmanship.
– I want to create something unique, something Oslo has never seen before. L'arrosoir in SIXA should be a place where you can find inspiration, floral joy and an atmosphere that takes you straight to the heart of Paris, says owner and floral artist Adrienne Ryser.
With roots in Paris' oldest flower shop, she brings French floral tradition to SIXA. L'Arrossoir has thrilled Parisians and visitors from all over the world, and now Adrienne is ready to share her passion with Oslo.
Adrienne's journey began in sunny California, where she grew up surrounded by flowers and plants. Her father was a plant wholesaler and her mother was a floral decorator. However, it wasn't flowers that first captured her interest – she dreamed of becoming a journalist.
But life took an unexpected turn when she met her current husband on a trip to Nice. Love led her to Paris, where she became neighbors with a charming little flower shop. What started as a random stop on the way home soon became a regular part of her everyday life.
The flower shop that changed everything
Curiosity about the flower shop grew, and Adrienne finally decided to apply for a job there. Only then did she discover that the shop was not only charming, but also the oldest in Paris – run by an elderly couple who had kept the tradition alive for over 30 years.
“They didn't have a computer, and everything was written down on little pieces of paper that were scattered everywhere. But what I remember most was how much I fell in love with the store. It was really so beautiful,” she says.
After a couple of years on the job, Adrienne had the opportunity to buy the store when the owners were retiring.
“I didn't want someone else to take over and transform it into something completely different. It's an iconic flower shop, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity,” she says.
Adrienne expanded the concept with events and workshops, and since then she has worked with everything from major fashion houses during Paris Fashion Week to the French President's residence. However, she was determined to preserve the soul of the old flower shop, which Parisians and tourists alike have come to love.
Now she is bringing the concept to Oslo and SIXA, where she wants to create a flower universe that combines French tradition with new experiences. With the same passion for craftsmanship and aesthetics, L'Arrosoir in Bjørvika will be a place where flowers are not just bought, but experienced.
